Less than two weeks away!
We're in the final run-up to Vibes. Today is a big test of our new AoIP system (audio over IP) for sending the feed from Seaside Park to WPKN's studio. We are planning to keep as much as we can in the digital domain, from the main stage soundboard right up to the computer feeding our mixing board at WPKN. That means a lot of tinkering and testing, but we're up for it.

WPKN/FTC benefit tomorrow night with The Grand Slambovians & Hamell on Trial
WPKN—the proud home of Radio Vibes since 2007—is co-presenting a benefit concert tomorrow night in Fairfield. This is an opportunity to hear some great live music, and support the area's best alternative, community radio station.
This Thursday, June 26th we're at the Fairfield Theater Company where we co-present together with the FTC a rare CT appearance by The Grand Slambovians— who pioneered alt-folk/americana staying on the fringe of the music industry. Think David Gilmore meets Duane Allman meets David Bowie! The opener is the personable, heavily acoustic amped Ed Hamell who goes by the name Hamell on Trial. This is a benefit for both of our non-profits. Tickets are online at fairfieldtheatre.org or via the box office at 203-259-1036.

The Vibes Schedule Looks Like Fun
Has your head exploded yet? Check out the schedule! Start planning your weekend now. Friday looks like a roots, reggae, and American fest on both stages. Saturday is off the hook with Umphrey's, Panic, and Bisco from 7:30 PM until 1 AM. Sunday looks pretty groovy too, with Maceo, moe., and Marley. That's just the main stage. We'll be broadcasting as much of this as we can (subject to artist agreement).
